Donna Rose Johnson

Donna Rose LaBrant Johnson passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 6, 2018. A funeral service will be held on Thursday April 12, 2018, at 1:30 pm at Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel, 518 Mitchell Ave N, Steele, ND, with Pastor Andy Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Eastgate-Steele Memorial Chapel, Steele, ND. Burial will be at Pursian Lake Cemetery, Braddock, ND. Donna was born October 21, 1937, in Belden, ND, to Arthur and Anna (Hanson) LaBrant. She married Edwin Johnson on December 10, 1960, and they farmed in the Braddock area. Donna was known for her rug weaving, quilt making, and other sewing and crafts, and loved teaching her crafts to her children and then to her grandchildren. She also enjoyed photography and writing and had her photography and poetry published. She loved books and worked in the Kidder County Library for a time. She loved cats, large and small and one of the highlights of her life was getting to pet a white tiger, but her greatest delight was her grandchildren and they were always in her heart and on her mind. Donna is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Johnson, Braddock, LeAnn (Duane) Irish, Jamestown, Nancy (Daniel) Aho, Wahpeton, and Brenda (David) Luna, Wahpeton; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She joins in heaven her husband, Edwin Johnson; son, Dallas; and infant daughter, Carla.
