Helen was born September 8, 1928 in Isabel, SD to Adam and Magdalen Silbernagel and then grew up on the family farmstead north of Bismarck. Helen was the oldest of nine and was a hard worker who was willing to do any task needed whether asked or not from the time she was a child until she could labor no more.

On October 4, 1949, Helen married her high school sweetheart, Adrian Joseph Fischer in Bismarck, ND. They were blessed with five children whom they raised in rural Bismarck. Helen loved God and she was an example of His unconditional love to her husband, and five children. She was creative and had a keen eye for fashion, jewelry, and decorating. She loved beautiful flowers, beautiful people and she would be overcome with joy when she’d see a baby. Helen especially loved music and dancing. She believed in doing and becoming her best. She took on many hobbies, classes and lessons to be all that she could be. Some included; macrame, scrap booking, Spanish, Chinese cooking, golf, bowling and horseshoe.

She had a silly sense of humor. If you had the joy of being in her presence, I am sure you can remember partaking in one of her many giggle sessions. Along with her silliness came all of her crazy sayings and silly names she had for things. Helen was an incredibly strong woman and through faith was able to handle adversity. She continued to show signs of strength until the very end of her time on earth. Helen gave to the community by being involved in groups supporting the special needs population, American Legion Auxiliary, Habitat for Humanity, and faithfully gave to the church. She was a former employee of The Bank of North Dakota, The Holiday Inn and The Sheraton. She was also an entrepreneur selling Avon and a partner in several businesses with her husband, Adrian. She was married to him for 62 years until his death. Helen was an amazing homemaker and wife who supported Adrian in all his endeavors. She was loved beyond words, will be missed greatly and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Helen is survived by her son, Neal Fischer and wife Lynn of Bismarck; daughter, Dayta Berger and husband Bob of Mandan, son-in-law Ron Krein of Mandan; daughter Nancy Buck and husband Johnny of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey Berger, Lance Berger, Crystal Berger of Mandan; Kathy (Fischer)Zander, Robbie Fischer of Bismarck; Ryan Stuart, Bismarck; Tyler Buck, Caleb Buck, & Tatum Buck of Phoenix; and 14 great grandchildren all of Bismarck/Mandan.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Adrian Joseph Fischer; her daughters Melissa Fischer and Jeanne (Fischer) Krein; her siblings Adam Silbernagel, Clayton Silbernagel, Alvin Silbernagel, and Joseph Silbernagel; her parents Adam and Magdalen Silbernagel and in- laws Wendelin and Elizabeth Fischer.

Dear Little Momma, Nana and Grandma - Our love for you is immeasurable and we look forward to dancing with you again.
