Kenneth Peterson

Kenneth E. Peterson, 77, died February 7, 2019, in Bismarck ND. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday, February 21, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 23, at Fulkerson Funeral Home, 104 South Main, Tioga, ND. Burial will be held in the spring at Tioga Cemetery. He was born to Harry and Elvina Peterson on December 6, 1941, in Hallock, MN. Ken attended school in Tioga, ND. At age 17, Ken started working in the oil fields. In his early adult years, he also worked as a rancher and was blessed with three children: Kim, Brad and Kathryn. Ken met Sheril Nygaard in Mohall, ND, and they were married on September 14, 1991. Their life together included a great deal of camping, boating and fishing. Ken retired from Logren Manufacturing of Casselton, ND, where he worked as a machinist. After retirement, they traveled and lived in their motorhome for many years before returning to Tioga to work at the Tioga Machine Shop. In 2010, they moved to Bismarck where he spent the final years of his life. He was known as a jokester that enjoyed playing many games of pinochle and drinking Budweiser. Ken was always seen wearing a hat with a glint of mischievousness in his eyes. Ken is survived by his wife, Sheril; his children, Kim (Darren) Garhart, Brad (Leisha) Peterson, Kathryn (Chad) Christianson; his step-children, Rhonda (Jesse) Styles- Rohde, John Nygaard, Gregg (Debbie) Styles and Marie Love; his sister, Darlene (Eldo) Johnson; his brother, Verlynn (Marvel) Peterson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elaine Thompson; and his brothers, Darrell and Glenmore Peterson.
