Burial will be held 1 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Eddie was born Oct. 23, 1935 in Mandan to Emil and Margaret Kautzman and was one of eight siblings.  He graduated from New Salem High School and attended Dickinson State College. He enlisted in the Army and served for two years.  Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he started as a cameraman for KFYR-TV and shortly thereafter attended Bismarck Junior College to study Accounting.  After his college studies, he became Comptroller for Meyer Broadcasting and retired in 2000 after a 43-year career.  Eddie married Geraldine Morris on June 10, 1961 in Bismarck and had four children.

Eddie loved to play softball for the Elbow Room, go bowling and golfing in his spare time.  He also enjoyed playing cards and camping with friends and family.  He was an active member of the Sertoma Club and enjoyed volunteering his time.  In the early 1980’s they started building a cabin on Brush Lake where he spent every weekend he could.  Eddie loved being surrounded by his kids and grandkids at the lake. He was a jack of all trades and loved to tinker around the garage and help neighbors with projects.

Eddie is survived by wife Geraldine; children, Kimberly (Kelly) Maguire, Castle Pines, Colo., Karin (Bruce) Haskell, Bismarck, Kevin (Renee) Kautzman, Ft. Worth, Tex., and Kristen (Kevin) Conlin, Sullivan, Ill.; grandchildren, Preston Becker, Bismarck, Kara Becker, Parker, Colo., Brandt Haskell, Fargo, Brady Haskell, Bismarck, Nicole Kautzman and Alexandra Kautzman, Fort Worth, Tex., and Zoe and Piper Conlin, Sullivan, Ill.; and five siblings.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three siblings; and the Haskell grandchildren triplets.
