Rose was born on September 21, 1920, to John and Magdalena (Bichler) Kramer on a farm near Strasburg, ND. She was the oldest of eleven children. Rose and her ten siblings were raised on several farms in the Strasburg and Linton area. Rose married Egidi Goetz on September 20, 1938, and they had eight children. After the war was over, they moved back to Linton, and Rose and Egidi started their own businesses. They owned a filling station, car repair shop and auto dealership on Hwy 83. They sold Kaisers, Willys Jeeps, Buicks, and Pontiac cars in Linton for many years. In 1980 Rose and Egidi moved to Bismarck and lived at Crescent Manor where she resided for 33 years. During those years, she was very active with various activities such as ceramics, etc. as well as being a volunteer in the dining room. She was a volunteer with the RSVP program for 29 years. Rose showed her sons and daughters what it was like to work at a business and run a house at the same time as she pumped gas and cleaned windshields at Goetz Exxon for many years. Rose was a wonderful partner to Egidi and a great mother. She was a very caring and sweet woman who always placed her family first. The Rose Goetz home was always a great place to eat for family, friends and even the strangers Egidi sometimes brought home for dinner. Rose was the ultimate cook and baker. She made pies, caramel rolls, kuchen, cheese buttons and other great food for her family and continued to do so in her 80's. She was truly loved and appreciated by siblings, her children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. May Rose rest in peace until we see her in heaven.
