Ann Marie Herman

Anna Marie Herman, 86, of Bismarck, ND, passed away on August 25, 2015, in Bismarck, ND. Visitation will be held at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND, on Thursday, August 27 from 5:00-7:00 pm.A service will be held at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND, on Friday, August 28 at 11:00 am, with a lunch to follow.Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 1825 46th St., Mandan, ND, on Friday, August 28 at 1:00 pmAnn was born and raised on a farm outside of Baldwin, ND, in 1929 to Henry and Anna (Miller) Diede, and graduated from Bismarck High School in 1948.Ann married her husband of 66 years – Ray Herman – in 1949. Ann's greatest joy was her family. She loved being a Mom, a Gramma, and a Great Gramma. She was a super Mom who was a great role model and provided a strong and loving family environment. She was immensely proud of her boys and their accomplishments.In addition to being a stay-at-home mother, Ann worked at the Bank of North Dakota, and kept the books for the business Ray established - Signs of Bismarck. They sold the business in 1986 and retired. In addition to living in Bismarck most of their lives, Ray and Ann spent many winters in Phoenix, AZ. Recently, Ann was a resident at Valley View Assisted Living. Her entire family extends their sincere thanks to all the great people at Valley View and Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for the care she has received over the past few years.Ann is survived by her husband, Ray, Bismarck; her sons: Tom (Bev Malarchick), Bismarck, ND; Dan (Mary Monsoor), La Crosse, WI; Doug (Jill Narlock), Encinitas, CA; grandchildren: Sara (Steve) Hamilton, Champlin, MN; Kristin (Nick) Noonan, Fargo, ND; Tom (Toni) Herman, Bismarck, ND; great-grandchildren RaeAnn, James, and Adria Hamilton, Champlin, MN; and great-grandchildren Kinley, Kaden, Brielle, and Crosby Herman, Bismarck, ND.Ann was preceded in death by her father, Henry; mother, Anna; brothers, Alfred, Gustaf, Leonard, Henry; and sisters, Amelia, Clara, Ester, Hilda.
