Leonard Monroe Combs, 93, Bismarck, died August 8, 2015, at a Bismarck hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Glendale, AZ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Leonard was born on January 2, 1922, in Glendale, AZ, to James Milton and Martha Estella (Goode) Combs. He graduated from the Glendale Union High School. He then worked at the family dairy until the dairy was discontinued. Leonard joined the Air Force on December 23, 1941. He served for four years and was honorably discharged in 1945 when he returned to Glendale. Leonard married Barbara Bradford and together they had two children, Sharon and Shirley. He married Katherine (Schaff) Schulz on April 25, 1997, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Sun City West Arizona. They split their time between Bismarck and Arizona. Leonard is survived by his wife, Katherine of Bismarck; his daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Morrison, and Shirley (Ken) Morgan; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; his parents; two sisters, Bonnie Kearns and Ethel Murray; and four brothers, Jim, Joseph, Willis, and Robert.
