Delores was born March 27, 1933, at Glen Ullin, the daughter of John and Anna (Lapp) Kessler. She grew up and attended school in Glen Ullin. On Sept. 13, 1953, she married Melvin Remmick in Glen Ullin. They moved to Washington, where Melvin was stationed in the US Army. Following that they moved to Ft. Pierre, S.D., and thereafter to Wahpeton, while Melvin attended North Dakota State College of Science. Following graduation they moved to Bismarck in 1960, eventually settling on the farm northeast of Bismarck. In addition to working full-time on the farm beside Melvin, Delores worked various jobs including Albrecht Frozen Food and Arrowhead Cleaners. Following Melvin’s death on November 24, 2011, Delores remained on the farm until October 2014 when she moved to Edgewood Vista where she enjoyed games, trips, entertainment and companionship of many new friends. She lived at Edgewood until her death. Delores and Melvin were farmers at heart. They enjoyed spring planting, haying, harvesting and gardening. She could be found picking rocks, hauling bales, operating the heavy machinery, and coming home after a long day in the field to cook dinner and tend to other household chores. Delores cared for the various farm animals, including regular night time field checks during calving season and tending to the dairy herd twice a day. She lovingly cooked homemade meals for her family every day for almost sixty years. The grandchildren proudly proclaimed that “everything tastes better at Grandma’s house”. Melvin and Delores shared in everything and were blessed to have shared love and life together for 58 years. Delores is survived by her children, Lorin (Anna Mae), Underwood, Minn., Denise (Michael Morrell), Bismarck, and Laura (Dave) Glatt, Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Shyla (Ben) Muse, Blake (Amanda) Remmick, Derek Remmick (Kari Bartholome), Dillon (Angela) Remmick, Wes (Erika) Ussery, Brennen Morrell (Ashley Leintz), and Tanner, Miranda and Kelsey Glatt; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ryan Ussery and Kyleigh, Alexa and Cameron Muse; Brekken and Simon Remmick; her sister Lorine Schneider; brother Calvin (Jeanette) Kessler.
