Obituary

Carol Jean Fetsch, 81, passed away on November 13, 2015, at Sanford Health Sunset Drive Continuing Care Center in Mandan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 20, at 10:30 AM at Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Terry Wipf officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A rosary/vigil service will be held on Thursday, November 19, at 7:00 PM at Eastgate Funeral Service. Carol was born on December 23, 1933, to Harold and Virginia (Skappel) Schenecker, in Webster, SD, where she graduated from high school in 1951. She worked as a telephone operator from 1951 – 1952. Carol earned her RN degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Aberdeen, SD, in 1955. She worked at St. Luke’s Hospital and Aberdeen Clinic until she married Mark Fetsch in 1959. She later worked at Bismarck Hospital for 25 years, retiring in 1996. She loved music. She sang in the church choir, played piano, and enjoyed swing bands. She also enjoyed senior bowling and golfing. Carol is survived by three daughters, Jayne (Dan) Cutshall of Madison, AL, Marion (Tim) Price of Bismarck, and Patricia (Troy) Barrow of Eden Prairie, MN; three sons, Tom (Jodie) Fetsch of Mandan, Bill (Kristi) Fetsch of Bismarck, and Michael (Lisa) Fetsch of Wake Forest, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her one brother, Bill Schenecker.
