Ronald George Benske

June 4, 1947 — November 24, 2015

Ronald George Benske, 68, Bismarck, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on November 24, 2015, after a short battle with cancer. Services will be held on Friday, November 27, at 11:00 AM Bismarck Community Church with Elder Dennis Sailer officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan. Visitation will be held on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church. Ronald was born on June 4, 1947, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Benjamin and Nettie (Sayler) Benske. He attended school in Underwood and graduated from Richfield High School in Minnesota in 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the US Army in 1966 and served in Germany until 1969. Ronald worked as a police officer for the Bismarck Police Department for many years. He was a mail courier for DHL for a few years, and a tour bus driver for Harlows. Ronald married Brenda Allen on August 6, 1971, in Minneapolis, MN. They moved to Bismarck in 1973. He enjoyed being outdoors and taking in the sun with his beloved dog Tator. He found the second love of his life, a 1985 Honda Goldwing motorcycle, which he enjoyed riding any chance he got. He belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association. Ronald’s faith in God was strong and he is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Ronald loved his grandchildren more than anything in the world and enjoyed spending time with them. Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda of Bismarck; his son, Cory (Misty) of Bismarck and their children, Tanner and Taylor; his daughter, Jeannie (Tony) Kamp of New Salem and their children, MaeLynn, Olivia, and Jasper; his sisters, Yvonne Andrews of Bismarck, Kathryn (Rick) Stewart of Fresno, CA, Deby Lawson of Rapid City, SD, Jan (Bob) Anderson of Wonder Valley, CA, and Marvis (Russel) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
