Norman J. Vietz, 87, Eagle, ID, died on January 23, 2016, at his home. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Monday, February 8, 2016, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Norman was born November 11, 1928, at Eagle’s Nest, ND, to Alfred and Martha Vietz. He graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1946. After working in Bismarck, he joined the Air Force, and served in England and Korea. He was discharged in 1951, and attended the University of North Dakota, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1953, he married Elaine Leutz. They lived in Akron, where they had their only child, Greg. They moved to Minneapolis where Norman worked with Honeywell until he retired in 1992. Norman and Elaine moved to Rapid City, SD, and then to Eagle, ID. Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, tennis, and playing cards. He was a supporter of higher education and the University of North Dakota. Norman is survived by his son, Greg; and his brother, Richard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his sister, Lorraine; and his brothers, Donald and Milton.
