Agnes Minnie Volk was born on September 18, 1940, in Anamoose, ND, to Edmund and Pauline (Bender) Schwaderer. She graduated from Anamoose High School in 1959 and went on to attend Minot Business School. On October 28, 1961, she married the love of her life, David Volk, in Balfour, ND. The couple made their home in Minot, where Agnes worked in a variety of service industry positions, including the shoe department at JCPenney and later in Food Service for Minot Public Schools.

Agnes embraced life with warmth, energy, and a wide range of interests. She treasured time spent at the family lake cabin in Van Hook on Lake Sakakawea, creating countless memories with family and friends. She and Dave shared a love of snowmobiling and were active members of the Magic City Driftbusters Snowmobile Club.

Agnes enjoyed gardening, canning, and sewing, and anyone fortunate enough to receive one of her handsewn gifts knew it was created with love. As an avid reader, she enjoyed books of every genre and delighted in shopping for additions to her many collections. Above all, Agnes cherished time with her family.

Agnes and Dave shared a happy and active life together for more than 56 years. They moved to Bismarck in early 2018, where Dave passed away later that May. Agnes remained in their townhome until moving to Touchmark Senior Living in 2024. There, she formed many meaningful friendships, embraced the community, and enjoyed participating in its many activities.

Agnes is survived by her children: Clyde Volk, Williston, ND; Bryce (Robin) Volk, Bismarck, ND; Edie (Larry) Brendel, Bismarck, ND; and Fiona (Jeff) Undlin, Surrey, ND. Her siblings: Dorothy Duchsherer, Grand Forks, ND; Grace (Lefty) Erickson, Harvey, ND; and Glen (Karla) Schwaderer, Bismarck, ND. Her grandchildren: Nolan (Tiffany) Volk, Tyler Brendel, Jessica (Sean) Brooks, Andrew (Shania) Volk, Chelsea (Max) Volk, Joshua Undlin, Alexander (Madison) Volk, and Lexie (Blake) Schepp; and her great-grandchildren: Quade, Maclin, Hallie, Mason, and Olivia.

Agnes formed many lifelong friendships in both Minot and Bismarck. Her family would like all of her dear friends to know how deeply she valued and cherished each of you. Your friendship brought her great joy throughout her life.
