Alan Hervey

February 3, 1962 — March 27, 2024

Bismarck

Hervey, Alan Brent, 62, of Bismarck, ND, passed away March 27, 2024 at Sanford Hospital, due to lung cancer. As a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many, Alan was a caring, generous, loving, positive force. He loved his family and friends and gave so much of himself in all he did. He was a positive influence on so many lives he touched.

Alan started at City Schwinn Cyclery at 16 where he learned to fix bikes at his family’s business which turned into Warren’s Locks and Keys.  He then moved to Benson Optical, making lenses for eyeglasses, and then to Huffy, Inc. setting up bikes, office equipment, etc. all over North Dakota. He most recently worked at FedEx Express for 10 yrs, where he managed deliveries.  He loved hunting, fishing, working in his yard, being with friends, etc. 

Alan is survived by his mom, Jewel Hervey of Bismarck, ND; his sister, Nancy Fergesen of Edina, MN along with her husband, Rick, and their three sons, his nephews, Connor Fergesen of Minneapolis, MN, Jack Fergesen, of Arlington, VI, and Will Fergesen, of Minneapolis, MN; and brother Mike Hervey, of Bismarck, ND. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Hervey, and brother, Dean Hervey.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4 at 10:30 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 N 4th Street, Bismarck, ND, 58501.  Lunch will be served in the church basement following the service. Please send memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Private family internment is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, next to his brother, Dean Hervey, and grandparents, Marvin and Emma Hervey.
