Alice was born in Harvey, ND on May 8, 1945. She was the fourth of ten children born to Emil and Frieda Isaak. Alice was raised on a farm south of Drake, ND where the Rosenfield Baptist Church was located across the road. At eight years old, Alice was inspired to play the piano by Mrs. Stading, the minister’s wife, and along with lessons, she played for church services at a very young age. She was a gifted pianist who could play without sheet music.
Alice graduated from Drake High School and moved to Minot, ND where she worked as an operator for Northern States Power. She married Elliot Iszler and had two sons: Todd (Colorado Springs, CO) and Greg (Bozeman, MT). Alice devoted much of her time to raising her children. Due to her son’s (Todd) hearing loss they all spent a great deal of time baking, cooking and playing piano, which assisted Todd in learning to speak and created wonderful memories for them. Later the family moved to Big Sky, MT and eventually, Alice relocated to Bozeman, MT.
In her later years, Alice moved to Bismarck and was a resident of St. Gabriel’s Community, where she played piano for the Lutheran, Baptist and Protestant services. She developed many close relationships and was referred to as the "Piano Lady". After health complications and a hospital stay, Alice was moved to the Baptist Health and Rehab.
Alice is survived by her son, Todd; his sons, Trey (LaCosta) and Chris (Casey); great-grandchildren Kinley and Libby; and a recently newborn great-grandchild, Cash. Alice is also survived by her son, Greg (Joanne), and their children, Ian and Ellie. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and loved to talk about all their accomplishments.
Alice is preceded in death by her loving parents, Emil and Frieda Isaak; as well as her brother, Orland; and sister, Carolyn.
