Alice Marie Amanda Rasmusson passed away on December 3, 2025, at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND. She was 93 years old. A memorial service will be held at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 S Washington St., Bismarck on January 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with internment at a later date at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
Alice was born to Albert E Allinder and Edith (Lindblad) Allinder on July 28, 1932, in Kandiyohi County Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church of Kandiyohi MN and graduated from Wilmar High School in May of 1950.
Alice moved to Shyenne, ND for work where she met Archie Christian Rasmusson coming home from a baseball game. They were married a few months later on November 18, 1951, after the milk cows dried up. They moved to Washington State, but shortly after they began working for a farmer near Webster, ND. Eventually, they purchased the farm in Hillsdale Township, Eddy County, ND where Archie had been born. They had two children; a son Dennis and daughter Debbie.
When Archie’s brother Bill decided to retire from farming, Archie did the same and he moved with Alice to West Fargo, where Alice began doing alterations for Herbst Department Store. She was later employed by Brauns at West Acres. After the birth of her youngest grandchild, Alice and Archie moved to Bismarck to live close, but not too close, to her daughter’s family. She also worked for Braun’s at Kirkwood Mall.
Alice was very active in the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, quilting up a storm every Monday.
Always a sickly sort, she had repeated visits to the wonderful folk at Sanford Hospital, where she passed away.
Alice is survived by her son Dennis (Mary) Rasmusson, Clitheral MN; daughter Debbie (Terry) Traynor, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren Gregg (Erin) Rasmusson, Timothy (Nathan) Traynor, Emily (Keith) Negrin, Casey Traynor, Alison (Joe Fay) Traynor, and great grandchildren Connor and Grayson Traynor, Owen and Eddie Negrin, and Aaron, Charlotte and Elizabeth Wren Fay.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie, her sisters Eleanor Swenson and Delores Larson, and her brother Delbert Allinder
