Ann C. Meland, 95, formally of McKenzie, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2023, at Lakewood Landing in Mandan, ND. 

A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, September 11th at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.  Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 10^th from 2PM – 4PM at Parkway Funeral Service and continue one hour prior to service.

Ann was born on June 28, 1928, in Driscoll, ND, to her loving parents Pete and Mary Malsam. She spent her formative years in Driscoll, where she was raised and educated. After completing her schooling, she embarked on a fulfilling journey as a dedicated homemaker. Additionally, Ann took on part-time clerical work, lending her skills to various businesses in Bismarck.

Ann married the love of her life, Roger Meland, in 1951 at St. Hildegard's Church, Menoken, ND. Together they raised three children, Dean, Darla, and Donna.

In 1980, Ann and Roger relocated to McKenzie, where she became the proud owner of The Little Store. This establishment became her pride and joy, serving as a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering commitment. Ann always enjoyed a game of cards and was especially eager to beat you at a game of gin rummy.

Ann is survived by her loving children, Dean (Wanda), Darla (John) O'Keefe, and Donna (Jerry) Speidel; grandchildren, Robert Meland, Courtney (Meland) Sprynczynatyk, Lucas Speidel, Whitney (Noah) Fliginger, Shane (Katie) O'Keefe, Jacy O'Keefe, and Jackson O'Keefe; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Greysen, Roger, June, Roland, Rocky, and Blake; and special friend Phyllis Rash.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents, and eleven brothers and sisters.

All who cherish her memory and will carry her spirit forward.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
