Annette M. (Zenker) Broeckel, 81, Mandan, ND died April 4, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, April 11, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior. 

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. 

Annette Broeckel was born April 13, 1944, in Dickinson, ND, the daughter of Arthur and Elizabeth (Geis) Zenker. She grew up and attended school in Dickinson up until Jr. High and High School which she attended in Bismarck, ND. Annette and her husband Gary met as next-door neighbors during their high school years and that is when history was made, it was love at first sight. Annette and Gary were married on November 16, 1963, and spent the next 62 years together. Annette and Gary raised three wonderful children together, Dwight, Casa Grande, AZ, Thomas, Bismarck and Pamela (Chris) Fisketjon, Bismarck. Annette was a stay-at-home mother who cherished those years raising her children. Annette went to work after her last child graduated from High School, first as a long time Avon Representative, then retiring from Cloverdale Foods after 16 years of service. Annette loved camping, and fishing with her family, gardening, puzzles, and spending time at the lake with her family, and many friends. Annette enjoyed going to Medora with her husband Gary and traveling to new places. Anyone who knew Annette knows what a fighter she was. Annette had a love for life and a positive outlook no matter how dark it was; She put up one heck of a fight for the last fifty years with her beloved husband by her side every step of the way.

Annette is survived by her husband Gary, sons Dwight, Tom and Daughter Pamela (Chris) Fisketjon. Sister Melinda Balanga and Brother Gary (Denise) Zenker. Granddaughter’s Brett (Nick) Schoedel, Great Granddaughter’s Karsyn and Hadlee Schoedel, Alyx (Sam) Olson. Special Grand Dog Zoey. Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces, Great Nephews and many wonderful friends.

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elizabeth Zenker, brothers Tom, Roger, Duane, Terry, Dennis, Gerald, and Gregory. Sisters Dorothy, and Elizabeth.
