Anthony (Tony) Silvernagel Jr., 87, passed away on December 16, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 27, at St. Katherine Catholic Church, 200 1st Ave N, Braddock, ND.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, December 26, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, with a Vigil/Rosary starting at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service.
Burial will be held at St. Katherines Cemetery, Braddock, ND.
He was born in Strasburg, North Dakota, on June 4, 1938.
He graduated from Braddock High School in 1957.
Tony was married to Donna Moch on June 28, 1969 (56 years), and they raised two children, Tanya and Jon Anthony.
Tony began his adult life in the U.S. Army. He worked at Cape Canaveral, Florida, and Minuteman, North Dakota. He then went to trade school to become an electrician in 1970. His career started as a journeyman at Becker and Huber Electric. He later went on to work 38 years as a master electrician at the North Dakota State Penitentiary, from which he retired in 2022.
Tony was an excellent dancer. He and Donna attended many weddings and polka parties throughout their marriage. He was also an avid recreational swimmer, and he loved playing and coaching sports. He played softball and enjoyed curling. When he stopped playing softball, he was an umpire for local softball leagues and the McQuade Tournament in the Bismarck area until 2024. He also coached soccer for his children’s teams and taught his grandchildren how to swim.
Tony is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Tanya Silvernagel and Jon Anthony Silvernagel; sisters, Hilda Silvernagel Mock, Isabelle Silvernagel John (Larry), Gladys Silvernagel Drager Dentice (Gino), and Mary Ellen Silvernagel Soggie; brothers, Leonard Silvernagel and Myron Silvernagel (Ileen); grandchildren, Briele and Jayden Vollmuth, Alanna and Reya Kramlich, and Abigail Silvernagel; and his great-grandchild, Tifa Abney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony Sr. and Philipine; brothers, Charles, Richard, and Patrick (Madonna); sister, Phyllis Silvernagel Dallman (Albert); brothers-in-law, Albert Dallman, Roger Soggie, and Leo Mock; and sister-in-law, Kitty Silvernagel.
