Obituary

Arlet Leno passed into the presence of Jesus her Savior and surrounded by her family on March 18, 2026.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am Monday, March 23, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 2-4pm Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Parkway Funeral Home, with a prayer service will begin at 4 pm.

Burial will be held at the Tuttle Cemetery.

Arlet was born on July 20, 1945, to Harold and Lois Wahl, and was raised on a farm west of Tuttle. As a teenager, her parents purchased the Tuttle Café, where she worked. It was there that a young man named Dallas visited quite often, and she made a point of serving him chocolate malts during her shifts (a strategy that proved to be quite effective.) Their love grew, and they were united in marriage in 1963, beginning a lifelong partnership marked by devotion, family, hard work and faith.

She often shared her belief that God had called her to adoption. Arlet and Dallas welcomed their son Dustin into their family in 1970. Their daughter Elizabeth joined them in 1976, completing their family of four. Dallas and Arlet ranched on their farm north of Wing for many years, eventually retiring first to Fargo, where she successfully beat breast cancer, and then to Bismarck.

Arlet was a mentor mom for MOPS, led community Bible studies in the Wing area, and was actively involved in church throughout her life. She also worked for several years at Dayton’s in Bismarck, where her love of people and eye for style were evident to all who knew her.

She had a gift for finding beauty in the everyday, whether through shopping, decorating, thrifting, or garage sales. She delighted in discovering treasures. She loved fashion and expressed herself with a signature style all her own, even wearing bold black eyeglass frames long before they became trendy.

Above all, she loved Jesus Christ as her Savior. Her greatest joy, after her faith, was her family—her husband, children, and grandchildren. She had a soft spot for animals, and loved her two pets—Maggie (cat) and Josie (dog).

She is survived by her husband, Dallas; her son Dustin (Holly); her daughter Elizabeth (David) Buck; her five grandchildren: Brandon and Taylor Leno and Isaac, Graham and Grayson Buck; her sister Vonda (Arnold) Glaser, her sister in law Judy Wahl; her in-laws Wallace (Alice) Leno, Paulette (Jim) Dew, Tom (Carmen) Leno, and Tim (Pat) Leno and her and many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as “Aunt Lettie.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Lois Wahl; her father- and mother-in-law, Jake and Freda Leno; her brother Dennis; and her nephew Shel.

Her legacy is one of faith. She will be deeply missed and joyfully remembered until we see her again in Heaven one day.
