She enjoyed sewing, dancing, playing cards, and spending time at Lake Sakakawea with family and friends, boating, water skiing, playing horseshoes and the bonfires. Berni really enjoyed her family. Berni was raised Catholic and wanted to become more spiritual. On May 29, 2003, she went to the Missionary Servants of Holy Love Shrine in Cleveland, Ohio and she had a healing which made her life much easier. Berni started the Rosary of the Unborn at Corpus Christi and also a spiritual prayer group in her home after she attended a Life in the Spirit Seminar. She had a very deep faith throughout her life. One of her greatest joys was praying for comfort and spiritual healing for others.
