Bonnie Lou Subart, 89, a life-long resident of Robinson, peacefully passed away July 16, 2021. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson, ND. Visitation will be held one-hour prior.

Burial will be held at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Robinson.

Bonnie was born on January 18, 1932 to H. Morris and Erma Madson on the family farm. Bonnie was born premature and was kept alive by being placed in a shoe box and setting it in the cook stove for heat. 14 years later her brother, Monroe, joined the family. Bonnie graduated from Robinson High School in 1949 and went on to teach country school.

On November 8, 1953, Bonnie married Lewis Subart at Bethany Lutheran Church, Robinson. Together they made their home on his brother’s farm, west of Robinson. To this union, four children were born: Lyla, Denise, Darwin and Kevin.

She was an excellent seamstress, baker and master gardener. She took over the baking of wedding cakes from her mother. Her cakes were exquisite and made to the perfection of each bride’s request. She served as Business Manager for the Robinson Public School until age 81, when the school closed. Bonnie was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she participated in numerous church activities.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lewis; children, Lyla (Roger) Fevold, Gillette, Wyoming, Denise Subart, Bismarck, Darwin (Jackie) Subart, Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Kevin Subart, Hamburg, Minn.; brother, Monroe (Nancy) Madson, Bismarck; grandchildren, Ryan (Whitney) Fevold, McKenzie, Casadee and Brady Subart; and great-grandchildren, Leighton, Avery and Landree Fevold.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
