Bruce Lovdal, age 74, of Bismarck, passed away on May 7, 2024. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday May 14, 2024, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Bruce was born in Minneapolis, MN, on January 29, 1950. He graduated high school in 1968 from Richfield High School, Richfield, MN. In 1968, he entered an apprentice program for drywall finishing.

In 1971, Bruce married Lyla Schmidt in Mandan, ND. Together they lived in the Minneapolis area until 1975, and then moved their family to North Dakota where Bruce started his drywall business. That business continued until 2023. 

Bruce is survived by his wife, Lyla; children, Jeffrey (Amber), Bismarck, and Spencer (Annie), Anoka, MN; grandchildren, Andrew and Gabriel, Bismarck; brother, Richard (Jori), Edina, MN; sister-in-law, Jody, Woodbury, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lois; brothers, Kevin and Ronald; sister-in-law, Margo Stegmiller; and nephew, Troy Ziesmer.
