Carole A. Treiber

May 22, 1940 — July 31, 2023

Bismarck

Carole Treiber 83 of Bismarck, ND went to heaven on July 31, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 3 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Carole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, sister-in-law and friend.

She was the 4th of 6 children born to John “Jack” and Agatha (Darcy) Schettler. Carole had three children, Michelle, Wade and Terry. Carole married Louis Treiber on June 2, 2007 and gained Betsy and Erin as her step-daughters.

Carole spent most of her life taking care of others; working at the Garrison Nursing Home on the midnight shift for many years. She also enjoyed doing Home Interior parties; having a knack for interior design. While doing home health care, Carole decided to go back to school and became a phlebotomist (to perform blood draws on individuals). She decided this wasn’t her cup of tea (which she loved to drink) and went to the medical insurance side. After retiring for a few years, she felt she needed to be around people and was employed by Miracle Ear. Louis and Carole decided to change up their life and journey to Kansas for a couple of years. Missing their family, they moved back to their home state of ND to Sterling. While living in Sterling, Carole went back part time working at Miracle Ear. When driving became to much for her they moved into Bismarck. She spent most of her time with family and friends.

Carole loved to read, dance, play cards, games, be a part of the Red Hatters and traveling. She enjoyed driving, making several trips to Mobridge, SD to spend time with her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren and to the cabin to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. A highlight of her life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was the type of lady who always helped in anyway needed and never wanted to hear you didn’t need her help, she never wanted to stay idle. On birthdays, she’d call and sing Happy Birthday, but she was no Loretta Lynn.

Carole is survived by her husband, Louis Treiber, Bismarck; children, Michelle (Jeff) Glaser, Lincoln, Wade (Jenny) While and Terry (Larrianna) While, both of Mobridge, SD; step-daughters, Betsy Treiber and Erin (Sudhir) Mandadapu both of MN; grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Howell, Shane Howell, Matt Glaser, Lauren (Michael) Schmidt, Terra Glaser, Lexy (Luke) Tabbert, Cody and Samantha While; great grandchildren, Taylor and Kole Howell, Brycen and Kaycen Howell and Arena Tabbert; sister, Jacqueline (Jackie) Sorensen; brother, Jerry (Anne) Schettler; brothers-in-law, Roger Ives and Armin (Lorraine) Treiber; sisters-in-law, Emma Lou Lavine and LaDonna Treiber; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert (Kay) Schettler, Donald and Katherine (Kay) Voigt; sister, Marlene Ives; brother-in-law Donald Sorensen; granddaughter, Laisha While; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Arlene Magstadt, Curtis Lavine, Duane Treiber and Donald Treiber; and her favorite grand puppies, Storm, Scoobie, Addy and Tracker.

Thank you to St. Vincents staff for their great care and compassion to Carole.

On behalf of the family, thank you for being here for us celebrating Caroles life.
