To honor Chaneen’s love of all things sparkle and purple, please feel free to wear your best sparkly or purple attire. The family asks that due to a severe allergy, you refrain from wearing lavender to the service.
Chaneen was born on June 5, 1977, to Charlotte (Bieber) and Michael Bartole in Bismarck, ND. She attended Mandan High School where she was active in choir and theater and graduated in 1995. She worked at Coventry (later Aetna) for many years. She later worked at Torrid in the Kirkwood Mall where she was well known for her amazing customer service. She absolutely loved helping her customers feel their very best.
Chaneen had a love of music and singing and dreamed of opening her own DJ/Karaoke business. Over the past year, this dream became a reality, and she launched Sparkle Entertainment. She loved hosting karaoke at various venues and making weddings a special occasion for couples. In her younger years, Chaneen loved performing in choir and theater productions at school. She had a talent meant to be shared on stage.
She enjoyed camping trips with her mother, stepfather, and two brothers. Time spent around the campfire as a family was dear to her. Chaneen had a love for the Minnesota Vikings. She could be found cheering her favorite team on each and every week. In recent years, she attended a game in Minneapolis with her beloved friend Jennifer Poole. This was a highlight of hers for sure. Chaneen enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She loved being an auntie to her only nephew, Vance. She anxiously awaited his visits from Texas and always greeted him with a goody bag of sweet treats. She was a fun aunt with a childlike spirit. She would always jump on board and play the latest video game with Vance, so they could bond over it. Chaneen also enjoyed playing board games. She participated in several game clubs over the years, but most special to her was time spent playing games with her special friend Andrew Davidson. The two shared a love of games, spent time going to movies, and leisurely nights visiting as friends do. These were the times she treasured. Chaneen was a true fan of WWE wrestling. Not so long ago, she traveled to Philadelphia with great friend, Will Rivers, to attend Wrestlemania and had the time of her life. This was a major check off her bucket list. When it came time to attend concerts, Chaneen was always ready to go. Her favorite band was Seether, who she saw live on many occasions. Over the past 20 years, Chaneen was very active in dart leagues. She looked forward to spending time with her best friends, Jennifer Poole and Trish Huskey, each week as they shot darts. Chaneen was known to be fashionably late for everything. It wasn’t unusual for her family to tell her a meet up time much sooner than the real one to ensure she would only be just a “little late". Chaneen’s relationship with her mother Char was a special one. When Chaneen battled cancer years ago, she moved back home as her mother took on the role of her caretaker.
Last year, Char had a stroke, and the caretaker role turned to Chaneen. The two of them were there to help each other when they needed it most, and this strengthened their love and bond.
Chaneen was well known for her love of all things Hello Kitty and glitter. She was affectionately known as “Sparkle,” and that she was, both physically and emotionally. She radiated joy through her smile and memorable laugh. She was always adorned with fun, brightly colored hair and makeup. She brought happiness and fun to any room she walked into. She was a gift to all who knew her.
Chaneen courageously faced her first battle with cancer in 2017. After a long battle, she became a survivor. Unfortunately, her cancer returned in the fall of 2024, and this time she lost the battle. Chaneen fought hard and had to endure so much along the way. She is no longer suffering, and that provides comfort to her family during this difficult time. Chaneen’s years were cut short, but she left an amazing impact on the world, and she will be greatly missed.
Chaneen is survived by her mother, Charlotte Bieber Kitzan (Aaron); brothers, Jesse Bartole (Rachel Forrest), Joseph (Tiffany) Bartole; nephew, Vance Bartole; grandmother, Cecilia Lambrecht; aunt, Laurie (Steve) Mossett; uncle, Pat Bieber (Chrissy Schell Nelson); step-aunts, Deana (Danny) Feist and Vickie Lambrecht; step-uncle, Clyde (Debby) Rostad; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Bartole; stepmother, Carmin (Rostad) Bartole; stepfather, Brent Kitzan; maternal grandfathers, Roland Bieber and Larry Lambrecht; paternal grandfather and grandmother, Lawrence and Ann (Richau) Bartole; step-grandparents, Ben and Adela (Krein) Kitzan; step-grandmother Minnie Rostad (Reinisch); maternal uncle, Harvey Bieber; paternal uncle, Anthony Bartole; and paternal aunt, Leann Bartole.
