IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clara
Blotsky
July 22, 1933 – February 13, 2026
Clara Louise Blotsky, 92, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on February 20, at Ascension Catholic Church, 1825 S 3rd St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00–7:00 PM on February 19, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, with a Rosary/ Vigil service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Clara was born on July 22, 1933, and was raised on her family farm in Flasher, where she learned early the values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family. On October 4, 1955, she married the love of her life, Basilius “Bill” Blotsky. Their marriage of 68 years was a beautiful testament to enduring love, partnership, and unwavering commitment. Together they built a home filled with laughter, faith, and deep family roots.
Clara was a woman of quiet strength, gentle grace, and steadfast faith. Her love for her family knew no limits. She poured her heart into being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and nothing brought her greater joy than having her family gathered close. Her presence was steady and comforting — the kind that made everything feel safe and whole.
She is survived by her seven children: Cliff (Laura) of Chaska, MN; Karen (Steve) Wolff of Bismarck; Deb McCrory of Bismarck; Ellen (Gerard) Klein of Bismarck; Randy (Sandra) of Florida; Patty (Darrel) Bosch of Bismarck; and Aaron (Mandy) of Prior Lake, MN.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She treasured their visits, their stories, and every milestone they reached. Clara is also survived by her brothers, Pius, Hugo, and Jim Ternes, and her sister, Esther Dietz.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents, Tony and Anna Ternes; and her brothers, Leander, Louis, and Alvin Ternes.
Clara had a special gift of hospitality. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome and no one left hungry. She expressed her love through her cooking and baking — meals prepared with care, recipes made from memory, and desserts that quickly became family favorites. Time spent around her table created memories that will be cherished for generations.
A faithful member of Ladies of Ascension, Clara lived her Christian faith daily — not only in church, but in the way she treated others, offered encouragement, and quietly served those around her.
She also found joy in tending her gardens. Blessed with a true green thumb, her flowers flourished under her care, blooming brightly year after year.
Clara’s life was a reflection of beauty grown from faith, devotion, and selfless love. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and steady presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A special thank you to Edgewood Vista Mandan, memory care, and caring edge hospice.
