Corlis was born on September 1, 1955, in Elgin, ND, to Emanuel and Lorraine (Kitzan) Delzer. She was a twin to her sister, Arlis, and shared a special lifelong bond with her.
In her early years, Corlis babysat for relatives and friends and also cleaned houses. She later worked at Pride Inc, where she supervised others until a work-related injury occurred. Corlis also worked at Medcenter One in health supplies.
Corlis met her husband, Clarence, through a mutual friend, and they were united in marriage in 1972 in Mandan, North Dakota. To this union, three sons were born: Tom, Greg, and Nolan. Together, they made their home in Mandan for many years before recently moving to Bismarck.
Corlis was deeply devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. She loved spending time with them and took great pride in caring for those she loved. Corlis was an excellent cook and baker, known for her homemade meals and delicious specialties, including chicken and dumplings, Swedish meatballs with gravy, chocolate rolls, and sugar cookies—her grandchildren’s favorite.
She also had a love for fishing. Whether along the riverbanks or lakeshores, Corlis always seemed to find the perfect spot. She first began fishing with her sons and their friends, and from that point on, she was hooked.
Corlis also enjoyed trips to the casino, where she liked to play keno slot machines, finding fun in the experience.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clarence; her sons, Tom (Gina) and Nolan (Kim); her grandchildren, Josh (Jordyn), Jacob, Hannah (Ethan Falcon), Madison, and Evan; her great-granddaughters, Winry, Sophie, and Nora; her siblings, Malcom (Arlene) Delzer, Jerry (Tracy) Delzer, and Arlis Cahoon; and many nieces and nephews.
Corlis was preceded in death by her son, Greg; her parents, Emanuel and Lorraine; and her brother, Dexter Delzer.
