Corrine "Corie" Joan (Balzer) Atwood, 66, went to Heaven on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at home with her loving husband by her side, after a short battle with cancer.
She was born to Christopher and Evangeline (Vange) Balzer on December 10, 1958, in Bismarck, ND. She was the youngest of seven children. She welcomed her daughter Kristi Lynn Nelson in 1976. She met the love of her life, Eric Atwood, in June of 1982. They were fated to be together. They were married shortly after, on January 28, 1983, and they were truly soulmates. They welcomed another daughter, Lindsey Marie, into their lives in 1984.
She worked for many years at Capitol City/Prairie Public Bingo and One Hour Martinizing.
She had an extremely close and loving family that celebrated an annual 4th of July reunion, which she so looked forward to. She loved to play (and win) Bingo, camping with family, being outdoors tanning in the sunshine, caring for her flowers and yard, and collecting Budweiser memorabilia and salt/pepper shakers.
For many years her favorite place was Jack's Steakhouse and Saloon, where she enjoyed visiting and sharing laughter with friends and family. Many times, she was the life of the party. In recent years, her greatest joy was when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren would visit.
She is survived by her husband, Eric; two daughters, Kristi (Jon) Bertsch, Burlington, and Lindsey, Bismarck; granddaughters Tiffany (Kendall) Krodel, West Fargo, Jonni (John) Jolley, Bismarck, Rondi, Burlington, and Paige Hausauer, Bismarck; grandson Kasey, Burlington; great-granddaughters Audrey, Amelia, and Averie Krodel, and Flora Jolley; brothers Richard and Christopher/Chris (Barbara/Barb) Balzer; sister Mary Morgan; sister-in-law Elaine (Skip) Balzer; fur babies Ace and Beebo, all of Bismarck; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Beverly (Dan) Schaner, Mandan, and Karen (Jim) Ruddy, Scottsdale, Arizona; brother James "Skip" Balzer; and fur babies Buster and Bud, all of Bismarck.
Special thanks to all the employees at Bismarck Hospice for taking wonderful care of our Princess.
The family would like to invite friends and family to her celebration of life at Parkway Funeral home on Aug. 28th, 5:00 to 7:00, including a light luncheon and refreshments.
