IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cynthia
Slag
March 5, 1952 – October 5, 2019
After a gallant fight with a complex cancer, comforted by her husband, Cynthia (Cindy) Lee Slag, 67, Dickinson, ND, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Cynthia was born March 5, 1952 to John and Rose (Veitenheimer) Erhart and graduated from hometown Glen Ullin High School. She married Frank Slag on June 10, 1972. She later joined Frank in Stuttgart, Germany, where he served in the US Army. There at Germany arrived their first son, Darrell. After returning to North Dakota, Dickinson became their home where Frank attended college. Cynthia became a stay at home wife and their second son Donovan was welcomed. Besides delighting in her family, she loved shopping, reading, and nature. Not well known was her extensive collection of angels, bells, Hummel’s, Jim Shore, quilts, shoes and Christmas paraphernalia. Having pet ducks as a child, Cynthia was a life-long animal lover and cherished her backyard bunny rabbits, squirrels, blue jays, and butterflies. Her idea of getting out of town were casino runs, but most notably, off to family gatherings, most often enjoying her mom’s delicious cooking and baking. Cynthia appreciated communications with her near and long distance dear and special friends— sharing experiences, support, laughter and tears.
Cynthia enjoyed the atmosphere at the Barnes & Noble in Bismarck finding special reads, chocolate goodies, gifts and beverages— perhaps followed up by a concert.
Cynthia will be ‘deeply missed’ by her loving husband, Frank; sons Darrell (special friend Dawn) Slag and Donovan (Mandy) Slag, Bismarck ND; grandchildren, Ethan and Isaac Slag and Dezaray Hultin; sister, Sharon (Arnold) Dockter, their children, Bryan, Brenda (Tim) Kellar and Becky (Brad) Stork; sister Linda Sackman, her children, Loren Gerhardt (Kelly Dorsey) and Lisa (Kelly) Engstrom; Aunt Frances Freitag and Uncle Matt Schaff. Quietly appreciative of them are eight brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, John and Marian Slag; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
To all her medical providers, no words can explain our gratitude for giving us two and a half years of memorable blessings.
