Daniel David Cox, age 60, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 27th, at Evangel Church, 3225 N 14th St, Bismarck, North Dakota.

Dan was born in Nampa, Idaho, on May 21, 1966, to David and Carolyn Cox. He graduated from Nampa High School and attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, where he earned a degree in accounting. He later obtained his CPA license.

Dan married Nola Brooks on June 22, 1991. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Bismarck, where they began their life and raised their family. Dan began his career with the North Dakota State Auditor’s Office, where he worked for 30 years. He loved his work and developed deep and lasting friendships with many of his colleagues.

Dan also served for more than 20 years on the Lincoln Park Board, a role he deeply valued because of his love for the parks and his community. He enjoyed playing disc golf, board games, reading, and watching movies. Dan was incredibly devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son whose presence brought joy and stability to those around him.

Dan is survived by his wife, Nola; his children, Anthony (Hannah), Cooper (Megan), and Kylee (Bret Hoffman); and his grandchildren, Hazel, Webster, Penny, John, Colton, Wren, and his soon to be grandson. He is also survived by his father, David; his brother, Doug; and his sister, Denise.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Cox.

He was a man whose faith and trust was truly in Christ. Therefore, his family takes comfort in knowing that he is now with Jesus, free from pain and resting in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His love, faith, and the memories he created with his family and friends will live on in the lives of all who knew him.
