IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel
Faurie
April 10, 1950 – November 4, 2025
Daniel Bernard Faurie, 75, of Bismarck, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, at a local hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 519 Raymond St., Bismarck. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.
Born in Bordeaux, France, the son of Raoul and Eloise Faurie, Daniel was raised and educated there, earning a degree in engineering. While on vacation, he met Patricia Mitzel, a North Dakota native, and their connection sparked a long-distance romance that led Daniel to move to the United States. The couple married on February 20, 1976, and began their life together in Bismarck before relocating to Texas, where they welcomed their daughter, Jessica, and son, Daniel C.
They eventually moved to Syracuse, NY, where Daniel started a career with Carrier International, New York, where he worked for over 20 years. After retiring, he and Patricia returned to North Dakota to be closer to family.
A proud and active member of the Masons, Daniel was a man of many passions. He found joy in building intricate model ships, a reflection of his love for detail and craftsmanship. A lifelong enthusiast of the water, he enjoyed fishing, canoeing and, in his younger years, scuba diving where he had a natural talent for capturing the beauty of the underwater world through photography.
Daniel also loved skeet shooting. Archery was a hobby he shared with his children. He was an avid collector of stamps and coins and had a deep appreciation for travel. His work took him across the globe, and he and Patricia made regular trips to France to visit his family, alternating years with visits to North Dakota to see hers.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Patricia; his daughter, Jessica (Tyler) Bowling, and their children, Samuel and Daniel, of Richmond, KY; and his son, Daniel C. Faurie, and his children, Huxley, Eloise and Gwendalynn, of DeWitt, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Ginette Faurie.
