Darlene Dale Peltz, 73, of Bismarck, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, January 13 at Word of Faith Church, 1503 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:00PM, Friday, January 12 at Word of Faith Church.

Darlene was born on January 2, 1951 to William and Adella Wetzel in Mandan, ND. She was the first baby born in Mandan that year. She graduated from Glen Ullin High School in 1969 and received an accounting degree from Bismarck Commercial College the following year.

In 1964 Darlene met the love of her life, Rudy Peltz. The first time Rudy saw Darlene he was captivated by her beautiful smile and the rest is history. They were married on August 29, 1970 in Glen Ullin, ND and together they lived a wonderful life centered around Christ.

At a young age, Darlene asked Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of her life. She had a servants’ heart and gave of herself joyfully to those around her. She had mastered the art of hospitality and loved cooking meals and making baked goods for her family. She enjoyed hosting events at her home such as family birthday parties and pie socials.

Darlene enjoyed canning, reading, doing puzzles, and playing games. She loved working with her hands and always planted a large vegetable garden and several flower gardens around the farm. She became passionate about Samaritan’s Purse - Operation Christmas Child. She found joy in filling shoeboxes that were donated to children in poverty to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Darlene loved spending time with her family and bestowed many great qualities among her three children including a love for Jesus, patience, kindness, and a hard work ethic. She supported them in their endeavors and was proud of all their accomplishments. Darlene was blessed to have formed a loving relationship with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Rudy, of 53 years; daughter, Monica (Jim) Reinfeld; sons, Gregory (Elisha) Peltz, Brenton (Katie) Peltz; grandchildren, Paige Kalenze, Dalton Reinfeld, Mila Peltz, Eden Peltz, Corbin Peltz, Isaac Peltz; great-grandchildren, Brantley Reinfeld, Ledger Reinfeld; sisters-in-law, Diane (Dave) Rydin, Irene Wetzel; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Mary) Peltz, Henry Schlak; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. Darlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Adella Wetzel; sister, Phyllis Kinsella; brother, Donald Wetzel; sister-in-law, Janice Schlak; brothers-in-law, Harold Kinsella, Eddie Schlak; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ervin and Erna Peltz.
