David Arthur Eckenrode, age 70, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away surrounded by his family on June 17, 2026. A livestream of the Funeral Mass will be available on the church's YouTube, listed here.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N Second St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave, Bismarck. A rosary vigil service will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
David was born on March 8, 1956, to Archie and Louise (Bieber) Eckenrode. He graduated from Hazen High School in 1974 and went on to obtain a degree in Information Technology at NDSSS. He married Sandra Kuchynski, and together they had two daughters, Nicole and Andrea. He went on to work for the State of North Dakota in Information Technology, dedicating 39 years of service before retiring in 2015.
David enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and games, and camping. He spent seven winters in Mesa, Arizona, where he met fellow North Dakota RVers and joined the Ramblin’ NoDaks RV Club. Many memories were made with this group of people. He especially loved attending his grandchildren’s activities, including sporting events and school programs.
David is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Nicole (Josh) Olson and Andrea (Jack) Mysliwiec; grandchildren, Travyn, Kyzic, Caydex, Ezlyn, and Louis; sisters, Shirley Eckenrode and Irene (Clayton) Beckman; brothers-in-law, Melvin Clemens and Kurt Milbradt; father-in-law, George Kuchynski; brothers-in-law, LaVern (Ronda) Kuchynski and Ervin (Cheryl) Kuchynski; sisters-in-law, Susan (Todd) Bodvig and Sharon (Dan) McKelvey; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Louise Eckenrode; sisters, Linda Clemens and Sheila Milbradt; brother, Jake Eckenrode; nephew, Dean Eckenrode; and mother-in-law, Hildegard Kuchynski.
