David Keith Johnson, 70, Bismarck, formerly of Steele, passed away on May 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 28, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 203 Mitchell Ave S, Steele, ND.
David was born on June 15, 1955, to Ernest and Vivian (Remme) Johnson in Burleigh County. He attended Steele Public School and spent much of his life working hard and serving his community.
He married the love of his life, Angie Kay (Wise) George, in September of 1983. Together they shared 43 years of marriage and built a life centered around family, faith, and hard work.
David worked for Missouri Valley Motors, Hanks Datsun, farmed with Doug Kalianoff, and worked as a carpenter with Mel Lang. He later owned and operated his own business, Dave’s Bulk. He also worked for Farmers and Merchants Oil Company as a bulk fuel deliverer, drove bus for Steele School, and delivered meals for Kidder Emmons Senior Services.
David enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, softball, and especially fishing trips to Canada. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele.
Grateful to cherish his memory are his wife, Angie; children, Clint (Joyce) George of Steele, Darcie (Byron) Rohrich of Steele, Keith George of Bismarck, and Tayler (Ashley) Johnson of Bismarck; grandchildren, Brittany (Dustin) Steckler, Bree George, Sadie Rohrich, Kayla Rohrich, and Xavier; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Dawson, and baby Hopkins; siblings, Daryl (Bev) Johnson, Gary (Juleen) Johnson, Tammy Johnson, and Brian (Deanne) Johnson; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brandy; and sister, Pam.
David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love for his family, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
