Delores Evelyn Hummel, 77, Bismarck, passed away April 10, 2022, at CHI St. Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, at Parkway Funeral & Cremation Services – 2330 Tyler Pkwy.  Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 25, at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Delores was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, on March 23, 1945.  Daughter of Joseph and Otillia Seiler.  She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1963.  She married Dave Hummel at St. Anne Church, in Bismarck, on November 28, 1970.

She began her successful career with the State of North Dakota, at the Department of Human Services, soon after graduation.  For the final 36 years of her career, she was the acting Business Manager at the North Dakota Housing Finance Agency.  She retired in 2018, as one of the state’s longest-serving employees with 55 years of service.  She also worked part-time for North Dakota Pharmacists Association.

She enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  She had a big heart, and always made sure her family and friends were taken care of.  She was a great listener, easy to talk to and loved sharing stories and laughter.  Her sons, Chad and Scott, and grandchildren, Avery and Ella, were her pride and joy.  Her hobbies included playing Bingo and trying her luck at the casino slot machines.   

She is survived by her husband, David; sons, Chad Hummel, Bloomington, MN, Scott and Tara Hummel, Highlands Ranch, CO; grandchildren, Avery and Ella Hummel; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeri and Larry Kary, Scottsdale, AZ; Josie and Ron Atkins, Fountain Hills, AZ; sister Claudia Brau, Prior Lake, MN and brother, David Seiler, Washburn, ND. Nieces and nephews, Kim Kary, Debbie (Kary) Crawford, Jodi (Hieb) Bourdo, Rick Hieb, Andrea McLean, Erica (Brau) Lynch, Natalie Brau-Soderberg, Caleb Seiler and Seth Seiler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Otillia Seiler; brother, Timothy and sister, Delphine McLean.
