It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Delores “Dee” (Fugere) Pinkney Sollin, 79 of Bismarck, ND. Dee passed away peacefully after 10 plus years of a hard-fought battle with cancer at Sanford Medical Center on June 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on November 26, 1946, in Fargo, ND, Delores was the daughter of the late Albert and Lucy Fugere. After graduating from Shanley High School in 1964, she married her first love Timothy C. Pinkney on January 23, 1965.
For the first half of their marriage, they had five children and raised them in Moorhead, MN. After the children all started school, Delores started driving bus for Moorhead Public School District – Special Needs Children.
In the fall of 1982, Delores moved with her husband and children to Napoleon, ND. There she was part of the Napoleon Ambulance Squad.
In 1989, Delores decided to return to school. She attended the University of Mary and graduated in 1992, with a Bachelor of Science - Nursing and became an RN. She worked for St. Alexius Medical Center on Telemetry for 20 years.
Delores lost her first love in 1997 and was lucky to find and meet her second love James Sollin in 2003. They married on August 14, 2004, and together they made their home in Minot. Delores continued working as an RN at a Rehab Home, ManorCare and Souris Valley. In 2009, Delores was forced to retire due to an injury.
In 2012, Delores and her husband moved to Bismarck, ND where they resided at the time of her passing. For seven of the last 10 years, Delores and her husband would spend their winters in Apache Junction, AZ.
Above all, Delores was a devoted woman. She was a loving wife to her husband Timothy C. Pinkney for 32 years and to James Sollin for 21 years. She was a proud mother to her five children: Barbara (Clayton) Norman, Bismarck ND, James (Suzette) Pinkney, Julie (Patrick) Becker, Timothy M (Crystal) Pinkney all of Napoleon ND, and Renee (Scott) Hochhalter, Wilton ND. Her greatest joy in life came from being a grandma to her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, with two on the way, and two great-great grandchildren.
Delores was a strong devoted Catholic. No matter the challenges or trials that she faced, her belief in God, never wavered.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lucy Fugere; her husband, Timothy C Pinkney; her brother, Jerome Fugere; and her granddaughter, Colleen Pinkney.
