Dennis was born on April 10, 1955, to John and Irene (Jacobson) Lipp in Linton, ND. He was raised on the family farm where he and his siblings created countless memories, and he found his love for tinkering. He moved to Bismarck in 1970 where he graduated from Bismarck High School and met Beth Kipp. They were married at St. George’s Episcopal Church on August 12th, 1978. Dennis and Beth had 3 children, Daniel, Kristin, and John.
He worked framing houses in South Dakota until he found his place in the printing business. He worked at Crown Press, United Printing, and eventually retired from Image Printing.
Dennis had the mechanical knack. Whether it was restoring classic cars, developing their beautiful country home, or building go-carts for the grandkids, he knew how to make things work. He also enjoyed helping others with their projects and they weren’t shy about bringing them by his shop for a helping hand.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Beth Lipp; sons, Daniel (Sara Kemmet) Lipp and John Lipp; daughter, Kristin (Matt) Koch; grandchildren, Ellee Koch, Lainey Koch, Nora Lipp, Wilder Lipp; siblings, Roger (Mary) Lipp, Tom (Marie) Lipp, Dave Lipp, Jackie (Ray) Schmaltz, Mike Lipp, Don (Sue) Lipp, Diane Lipp, Cyndi Schreiner; in-laws Mark Kipp, Sue (Neal) Engelman, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Lipp; sister, Joan (Ervin) Schiermeister; parents-in-law George and Janet Kipp; sister-law Sheila Lipp; and brother-in-law Butch Schreiner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Dennis may be given to the Ronald McDonald House or St. George’s Episcopal Church.
