Donna Duppong

December 11, 1943 — April 12, 2023

Bismarck

Donna Marie Duppong passed away on April 12, 2023 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 17 at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N Second St., Bismarck. A service livestream will be available on the church's website, listed here.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 6 p.m.

Burial will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Donna was born December 11, 1943 to Robert and Eva (Waleri) Morman. The fourth of 11 children, she was raised on a farm near Hebron, ND in the Haymarsh rural area. She grew up knowing hard work in the garden and helping with farm chores as needed. She especially loved her mother's Juneberry pie.

She attended St. Clements Catholic School in Haymarsh and St. Mary's High School in Richardton. She worked at the local diner during her high school years there.

Donna moved to Bismarck and worked as a bookkeeper at the State Capitol. Donna married Wayne Duppong, also from the Haymarsh area, at St. Clement's Church on August 29, 1964. Their union was blessed with four children and Donna dedicated her time to caring for her growing family as a stay-at-home mother. She was active at St. Mary's Catholic Church teaching Sunday School for several years and in her later years baking for funerals. She raised her children in her strong Catholic faith.

Donna worked at St. Vincent's nursing home for a time before starting an at-home daycare in the lower level of their home. During 25+ years working as a daycare provider, she touched the lives of many children and those children became part of her family as she cared for them with the same love she bestowed on her own children.

Donna could usually be found cooking, baking, sewing, and enjoying her grandchildren as well as harvesting the bounty from Wayne's garden. As she was an excellent cook and baker and you could always count on the most scrumptious goodies during any visit.   She also spent her free time crocheting and donated crocheted hats to various charities. She enjoyed reading (especially westerns), embroidery, multiple crafts and playing games of all kinds with all of her special kids: Card games, board games, crossword puzzles, word searches, and standard puzzles.

Donna is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wayne; and four children: Lee (Debra) Duppong,  Bismarck; Kay (Raymond) Ludlum, Beulah; Lowell Duppong, Bismarck; Jennifer (Justin) Sabo, Bismarck; grandchildren: Stephanie, Lindsey, Tanner, Mindy, Shelby, Kevin, Leanna, Noah, Ainsley; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eva; and brother, Merrill Morman; as well as her most beloved daycare child, Rusty Aichele.

She will be greatly missed by her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Bernard Catholic Indian Mission.
