Donna Lowe, 99, Bismarck, formerly of Hoople, passed away peacefully at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, on August 1, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 7 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 1004 E. Highland Acres, Bismarck. A luncheon will follow the memorial service.
Burial will be held at a later date in Hoople, ND, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Leonard.
Donna was born March 26, 1926, in Lakota, ND on the farm to the late Jophia and Peatrice Hobbs (Cambell). She grew up in Hoople, ND, where she graduated from Hoople High School in 1944. She married Lt. John Vernal Hultin in June 1944, and from this union had one child, Gary Hultin. She became widowed in December 1944, losing her husband in WWII.
She later met Arnold Leonard Lowe, and they married in 1951. They had one son, Robert Lowe, from this union. They lived and raised their family in Hoople, ND. She spent time raising her two boys while also waitressing at the local café. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends over the years. She later moved to Bismarck, ND to live closer to family after the death of her second husband.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Jeanie) Lowe; grandchildren, Chad (Kim) Hultin, Dawn (Darrell) Slag, Matthew Lowe; great-grandchildren, Dezaray (Joe) Kitzman, Breanna Miller, Ashley Luptak, Hailee Luptak, Hanna Luptak; and great-great-grandchildren, Cooper Kitzman and Addilynn Luptak.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lt. John Vernel Hultin and Arnold Leonard Lowe; son, Gary Hultin; daughter-in-law, LaVonne Hultin; her parents, Jophia and Peatrice Hobbs (Cambell); and brother, Russell Hobbs.
