Donna Leah Wenzel (Reichert), age 93, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026 at CHI St. Alexius Health. Donna was born in Racine, WI to Leo and Lollie Reichert. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1951, then attended nursing school at St. Mary’s School of Nursing, Milwaukee, WI. She married Emmett K. Wenzel on June 9, 1956, and were together for nearly 62 years until Emmett’s death in 2018. She was a surgical nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Racine before devoting her life to her family. A long-time resident of Racine, Donna then lived in Mesa, AZ for 30 years. She moved to Bismarck 4 years ago when she moved into Touchmark where she was embraced by the residents, staff, and personal caregiver Tina. A devout Catholic, she will always be remembered for her love of family, fishing, card playing, cooking, sports, walking, sweets, and a kind heart. Her husband, parents, brother Ron, and great-grandson Henry preceded her in death.

Donna is survived by her sister, Janice Aberle; four children: Julie (John) Rallo, Mark (Lorrie) Wenzel, Dan (Martha) Wenzel and Mary (George) Hinkle; ten grandchildren: Katy Wenzel, Paul (Kara) Rallo, James (Sally) Rallo, Therese (Brian) Aleinkoff, Rachel (Patrick) Bailey, Shelly (Phillip) Reimer, Michael Wenzel, Rebecca (Michael) Fiore, Christine Wenzel and Audra (Dylan) Langley; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and especially appreciated the time her Bismarck relatives spent with her these last 4 years.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date in Bismarck and interment will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice.
