Douglas Lingert, 66, passed away at home peacefully on March 23, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at later date. Doug’s ashes will be laid to rest at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in New Leipzig, ND. The same cemetery his parents were buried.

Doug was born in Elgin, ND, on May 11, 1957, he grew up in the New Leipzig area with his family. After high school, he did some traveling before moving back to Bismarck.

Doug lived in Bismarck where he raised his children with their mother, Mary. He was a loving father of five children and the greatest grandfather to his granddaughter, Gabby, and grand puppies.

Doug was a big sports fan, the Minnesota Vikings was his favorite Sports team. Watching Sunday games with his granddaughter was his favorite tradition. He also loved going to sporting events and concerts with his children. He was big rock music fan and loved going to rock concerts any chance he could get. Doug worked for Capitol Janitorial Service and Wendy’s restaurant for more than 20 years. He was a hard worker and took pride in his work. He was cared for by all his coworkers and will be missed.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Adeline and Samuel Lingert; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Mary Lingert; brothers-in-law, Curley White and Roger Remmick; and recently lost his loving dog, Marley, in Nov. 2022. Marley was Doug’s loyal companion for 16 years.

Doug is survived by his sons, Adam Daniel and Ryan Lingert; daughters, Catherine and Jessica Lingert; former wife, Mary Lingert; granddaughter, Gabby Lingert; brother, Dale Lingert; sisters, Dorris (Kenny) Freidt and Dinah White; nieces, Marie (Andy) Stroklund and Amanda Lund and her children, Sierra and Kane; nephews, Travis Friedt, Brent (Jody) Friedt, Allen (Trish) Friedt and Christopher White; many more loved family members, and his grand puppies, Zoey and Oliver.
