Edgar Spelmanis, 96, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2019 at Prairie Pointe Assisted Living in Bismarck. A funeral service will take place in the spring.

Edgar was born on April 9, 1923 in Valmiera, Latvia. In September of 1951, he moved to North Dakota and worked at MDU for over 30 years designing and supervising the installation of high-power electrical lines.

He is survived by his son Egon (Mary) Spelmanis, Denver, CO; daughter, Elaine Cofell (Wayne Axtman), Bismarck; grandchildren Aaron and Adrian Cofell; and great-grandchild Ayden Cofell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Erika; and parents.
