Eldor was born July 30, 1935 in Golden Valley, ND, the son of Ervin and Emma Mai. He grew up in Golden Valley. He began his work career working for local farmers until 1953 when he moved to Garrison, ND. On April 6, 1958 he married Elna Wiedenmeyer at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Zap, ND.
Eldor was a dedicated and hard-working man. He worked for various local farmers and construction firms before starting his own company, EM Concrete, in Garrison. Shortly after retiring at the age of 72, he moved to Bismarck.
Eldor was a devoted church going man who passed that trait on to his children. He enjoyed attending car races, playing cards, and valued spending time with his family. He was always sharp as a tack and had a great memory for details.
He is survived by his children Jim (Tammy) Mai, Sis (Mike) McKinney; grandchildren, Angela (Derrick) Keys, Eric (Caixia) Enderle, Madison McKinney, Tiffany Mai, Amy (Nate) Greff; numerous great grandchildren; and one great great-granddaughter; brother, Gerald (LaRue) Mai; sister, Carol (Rodney) Welke.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elna; son Dean; parents; and brothers, Jim and Myron.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 2, at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 801 E Denver Ave, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 1, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 PM.
Burial will be held at Garrison City Cemetery at later date.
