Elizabeth (Betty) Buehner Tescher was born October 27, 1926, to Erick and Grace Buehner in Werner, N.D. Betty passed away on September 24, 2026.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, October 2, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 142 2nd Ave SE, Beach, ND.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 PM, on Thursday, October 1, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Beach. A Rosary/ Vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM.

Betty attended Hope School #3 for grade school and Werner High School. After graduation, she spent four months at telegraphy school in Jamestown, N.D. She worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad on the Yellowstone Division for about eight years as an agent and telegraph operator.

On July 8, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Alvin Tescher at Werner Catholic Church. They ranch­ed and lived at Sentinel Butte, north of Wibaux, MT., north of Beach, south west of Fryburg, in Dickinson, and Tescher’s Trail Rides in Theodore Roosevelt National Park for 16 years. Alvin and Betty resided in Beach, for 32 years and moved to Marillac Manor in Bismarck in September 2007.

Alvin and Betty enjoyed praying and prayed the rosary every day. Betty was known for her great cooking and homemade buns. She amazed folks at how quickly and easily she could whip up a good home-cooked meal when company stopped to visit.

Twelve children were born to this union: *Tim (Norma), of Dickinson; Barbara (Gary) Brandow, of Columbia Falls, MT; *Kathleen; Bob (Karen), of Bismarck; Ray (Jill), of Beach; Kay (Don) Williams, of Bismarck; Ren (Ann), of Pine Island, MN; *Jeff (Paulette), of Bismarck; Nona (Bob) Niece, of Beach; John (Kim), of Billings, MT; Mary (Chris) Majka, of Bellevue, NE, and Jay (Jodi), of Sentinel Butte; she has 28 living grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one younger sister, Agnes Greenshields, of Beulah, N.D.

*Deceased and she is also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 2010; parents; granddaughter, Jordin, daughter of Jeff and Paulette; two great grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Jay Greenshields.
