Elizabeth Ennen, 87, of Menoken, passed away on July 19, 2026.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave., Bismarck. Burial will take place at the Menoken Cemetery.

Elizabeth Arminta was born on March 7, 1939, in a Bismarck hospital, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Hanks) Craven, who lived in Telfor Township. At the age of 4, her family moved to Menoken, where she was raised and attended Menoken Grade School and Bismarck High School.

On November 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Lyle Ennen, and together they raised four children: Lyla, Terry, Bryan, and Treva. Elizabeth was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, serving as a beloved mother and grandmother. Her children will always cherish her caring nature, her steadfast discipline, and her stubborn but supportive spirit. 

An active member of the Menoken Homemakers, Elizabeth contributed her talents to the community by serving school lunches for a few years at the Menoken School. Throughout her life, she attended Glencoe Church. Elizabeth had a soft spot for nature, particularly for birds, and took great pleasure in tending to her beloved flower gardens, especially her daisies. She and Lyle took the family to many rodeos throughout the years and took a special trip on their 35th wedding anniversary to Las Vegas, with their daughter Treva and son-in-law Bill. Elizabeth also enjoyed traveling to see her brothers out of state. 

In her later years, Elizabeth developed a fondness for animals, nurturing a growing collection of feline friends in the farmyard, that she delighted in caring for. She also enjoyed sewing and was well-known for creating beautiful blankets and quilts. Her grandkids will forever remember her fondly for her homemade buns and the special time shared with them. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lyla and her children, Kayla (Abram) Zart, Destiny Kinzley, Tia Ennen and Talon Van Ness; her son, Terry (Lynnette); son, Bryan (Laura), and their children, Krystal Peterson, Amber (Daniel) Anderson and Samuel Ennen; her daughter, Treva (William) Beard, and their children, Jakeb (Emily) Beard and Chase Beard; 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents John and Elizabeth Craven; four sisters and five brothers.
