Emily Simon, 88, Bismarck, died September 9, 2018, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Mark Ehrmantraut officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Cemetery, Taylor, ND. Cremation has taken place. Emily was born August 22, 1930, in Taylor, ND, the daughter of Bert and Selma (Stoxen) Swanson. She attended school in Taylor, ND, and graduated with a teacher’s degree from Dickinson State Teachers College. Emily was married to Vernon Simon. Emily worked as a teacher in Zap, ND, Taylor, ND, Bismarck, ND, Terry, MT, and finished her teaching career in Billings, MT. Emily is survived by her stepchildren and step-grandchildren; her siblings, Vergie Drury, Alfhild (Jay) Ehrmantraut, Bert (Darleen) Swanson, and Evelyn Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Vernon Simon; niece, Joy Lengelenfelder; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Drury.
