Ernestine Voegele

 Ernestine “Ernie” Voegele, age 92, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024 at St Alexis Hospital, Bismarck, ND.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, May 20, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1919 N. 2nd Street, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 3:00PM to 4:00PM, with a vigil service starting at 4:00PM, Sunday, May 19 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Avenue, Bismarck.

Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck.

Ernestine was born to Nick and Anna Sologuk on June 9, 1931 in Wilton, ND. She was raised on the family farm along with her older brother and older sister. She attended school in Wilton and was affectionately known as “Ernie”.

Ernie had various jobs as a young, single woman and on February 21, 1957 she married Leonard Voegele in Wilton. Ernie and Leonard built a wonderful life together in the Bismarck area, welcoming two beautiful children, Marc and Marilyn, into their family. They celebrated 65 years of marriage in 2022 before Leonard’s death.

She was a loving and devoted mom to her children, proud of her Ukrainian heritage, and an advocate for people with special needs. She was a wonderful daughter to her parents, caring for them in their later years. She was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and lived her life trusting in God.

Ernie will be greatly missed by her son, Marc Voegele; her daughter, Marilyn Voegele; along with her sister-in-law, Lugale Schirber; brother-in-law, Larry (Ina) Voegele; her nieces and nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents; her brother, Harry Sologuk; her sister, Alice Burnett, and sister-in-law, Eileen Sologuk.
