Eudora Sticka

Eudora (Thielman) Sticka, 91, Bismarck, died on July 2, 2024 at Touchmark on West Century in Bismarck, ND.

Eudora Florence was born on June 23, 1933 to William and Anna (Mesling) Thielman on a small farm near Regent, ND. She grew up on a farm near Havelock, ND, attended a one room school house for a couple of years and then Havelock Grade School. She graduated from New England High School in 1950. Eudora married Ignatius Sticka on May 17, 1954 at St Mary’s Church and raised four children in New England before moving to Bismarck in 1972. Her days were filled with time with her family, baking, gardening, bowling, reading, playing pinochle, Sudoku, and family trips to the casino. Eudora was an avid Minnesota Twins and Vikings fan. After moving to Bismarck, she worked at the Register of Deeds Office for four years and the State Health Department for 10 years. She and Ig took many trips out west to enjoy the mountains and visit family. In her retirement years, she volunteered in many ways, leading a line dancing group, directing and singing with the Senior Center Singers, and as a tax-preparer for seniors and low-income families. In her final year, she lived in Yorkshire at Touchmark, enjoying many activities, especially music, which she loved!

Eudora is survived by her husband, Ignatius Sticka; children, Danita Sticka (Theresa), Dwayne Sticka, Arvy Smith (Gordy), Robert Sticka; grandson, David Smith; step- granddaughter, Sarah Owens (Dan) and their daughters, Victoria and Elizabeth, and her sister, Darlys Bentz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anna Thielman, sisters, Arlene Schaefer and Yvonne Niemeier, infant brother, Darwin Thielman, infant sister, Irella Thielman, brothers-in-law, Keaton Schaefer, Don Niemeier, and Darwin Bentz.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Corpus Christi Church, 1919 N in Bismarck, ND. 

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00PM in the chapel at Touchmark on West Century, 1000 W Century Ave, Monday, July 8, 2024 with a rosary and vigil service starting at 6:00PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the liturgy on Tuesday at the church.
