Florence (Kiemele) Wagner, 91, Bismarck, passed away February 26, 2026, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Florence was born December 11, 1934, the daughter of John and Caroline (Heer) Kiemele at her grandmother’s home in Linton, ND.

She attended grade and high school in Hazelton. Florence and Vern became acquainted in the summer of 1951, and on June 20, 1954, the couple was married at First Baptist Church in Linton. Two years later Easter Sunday, their daughter Wanda was born.

The following eight years they lived on the Richard Wagner diversified farm, northwest of Hazelton. The family later moved to Moses Lake, WA, where they managed a hotel for two years, and returned to North Dakota to take over the John Kiemele farm operation. They continued to farm until 1979 when they leased their farmland to neighbors and traveled the country for several years. In 1981, Florence and Vern accepted seasonal jobs and worked for the National Park Service in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming for 21 seasons. In 2002 they returned to Bismarck, ND.

Florence is survived by her daughter Wanda (Wagner) Johns, son-in-law Paul, and grandsons Ross and Paul, sisters-in-law Luella Maier, Jacque Kiemele and Florence Kiemele and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, parents, sister Frances Hentschel, and brothers Gordon and Floyd Kiemele.
