Frances Marjorie Goettertz, 98, peacefully passed away July 7, 2026, at Maple View Care Center in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Services will start at 11:00 AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 203 Mitchell Ave S, Steele, on Wednesday, July 29th, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service, lunch will follow at the church, and private family burial.
Frances was born March 22, 1928, to George & Emma Whitney, graduating from Steele High School in 1947. She married Alfred (Allie) Goettertz on November 29, 1947, in Steele, both lifelong residents of Steele. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at every opportunity. She was a skilled seamstress and an avid card player. As a member of Trinity Lutheran, she contributed many hours of dedicated service, including memorial fund treasurer. She also served as ambulance bookkeeper, AAL Treasurer, and employee of Cottonwood Golf Course at Steele for many years.
She is survived by one sister, Gladys Perry, North Carolina; two children, Ruthie and Sean, Casper, Wyoming, and Rocky and Teddi, Bismarck, North Dakota; two granddaughters, Rory & Rusty Horsley, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Rana DeWall, Naples, Florida; two great-granddaughters, McKenna Lee & Ashton Allie Horsley; three step-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, and son, Rodney.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of donor's choice.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent care she received at Golden Manor and Maple View in Bismarck.
