After high school he did labor jobs that included cement finishing work.  He spent several years working at the University of Mary as a maintenance man.  He loved working there and helping the sisters at the Annunciation Priory with anything they needed done. He later went to work at Facility Management at the State Capitol as a maintenance man for 33 years.  He worked part-time at Lowe’s in the plumbing department for 13 years.  He loved the job because he got a lot of people contact that he so enjoyed.

He married Debb Seelye in 1974.  Through this union they had a daughter, Jami, and a son, Kody.

During Mick’s younger years he loved fishing, hunting, camping, helping with ND amateur boxing matches, playing the bongos and jamming with friends.  During those jam sessions, there may have been his favorite, an occasional Jack Daniels and Coke to quench the thirst.
